Respected Geeta Didi had taken up the task of educating children of under privileged families more than 73 years back, drawing inspiration from a letter she received from Bapu Mahatma Gandhi wherein he had advised her to take up social service in order to overcome the pain of losing her husband at a very young age. She started on this journey with a mission – it is absolutely essential for upliftment of society that children and women should be provided quality education, especially those coming from families who do not have the resources to afford it. She aimed at developing the qualities of self-dependence, simplicity, patriotism and social service in boys and girls, so that the nation gets a generation of good citizens, for which she devoted her entire life. Geeta Didi always followed Gandhi ji’s dictum of total dedication to one’s cause but without causing any uneasiness to others.
Geeta Didi built this institute brick by brick, and gradually from a small bunch of tiny tots from the under privileged part of society. When Bal Mandir Happy School (as she named it in the beginning) grew up to a Senior Secondary School for both boys and girls, she moved a step further and started the women’s STC college in early ‘70s, and then went on to include a B.Ed. college, also for women, in 1976. She always wanted to do her bit towards growth of women’s education, which is so necessary for empowerment of women in the country.
I was not fortunate enough to have known Geeta Didi during her lifetime, and I had never imagined that some day I would be able to serve in this institute, but some time in 2015, Shri Gurdev Singh (grandson of Geeta Didi) and Shri Rajesh Patni, met me and requested my help as an architect for rebuilding the auditorium and renovating the whole campus, which gave me immense pleasure. Some years later, they again asked me and actually convinced me to take up the responsibility to join its management team as President. I felt honored, and I am glad to say that the current team is doing a good job, especially Shri Gurdev Singh as Secretary is dedicating all his time and resources to manage the Sansthan efficiently and ensure its all-round growth, of course with excellent support from key members of the management team.
In 2019-20, we celebrated the Birth Centenary Year of Geeta Didi, and today, as we remember her every day, we feel a surge of new energy and also feel inspired to do better and better. Our real tribute to the great lady would to dedicated ourselves to the causes which she espoused, in order to fulfill her dreams through our students, and raise the Geeta Bajaj Bal Mandir Sansthan’s standing to a new high on the list of the country’s best educational institutions.
I dedicate this newly constructed website to Geeta ji’s memory and her vision of educating a new generation of young boys and girls and women teachers, which will value her ideals and in turn, help build a great India.

Welcome to the website of the Geeta Bajaj Bal Mandir Sansthan !
We had launched this website in February 2020 during the birth centenary celebrations of our founder, the great Gandhian and freedom fighter, late Smt. Geeta Bajaj. It has been our intent that the website should make available to you as much information as possible about Geeta ji, as also to bring to you updated information about the Sansthan and its day to day activities and the progress of our wards.
Smt. Geeta Bajaj started this historic institution nearly 73 years back with a handful of tiny tots from the underprivileged sections of society, and during her own lifetime, saw it grow into a large institution with a fantastic reputation for its high quality, all round education to boys and girls in a Senior Secondary School and also girl students in the Teachers Training College.
Geeta Bajaj introduced all her Gandhian ideas to tech and train the students in the manner Gandhiji had willed. Education imparted in this institution concentrates not only an academic excellence but aims at developing a harmonious all round personality. Extra curricular activities bring forth dormant talents of the students and inject confidence and belief in themselves and their capacities. The skills taught here are aimed at making the students self-reliant in life.
Geeta Bajaj, even though a Gandhian to the core never lost sight of the needs of modern times. She had the great trait of striking a balance between the old and the new without losing the firm roots of morality and Gandhian ideals. Computer learning has been introduced and provision for advanced facilities is in the offing.
Accordingly, it has been our mission always to make quality education available to each one of our students and to impart all-round education to our students, so as to produce good human beings and good citizens for the nation, who are capable to take on the challenges of the modern era. It is our endeavour to provide to them a learning environment which is conducive to all round development of their physical, mental and civic faculties. If, with your support, we are able to achieve some success in this direction , it would bring great satisfaction to us in the Sansthan Management, and will also be the a real tribute to the memory of Geeta Didi in the 104th year of her birth.……
On a concluding note, I am happy to announce that we have started English Medium education in our Primary Section from the current session ie July 2023 onwards, and we will gradually progress upwards in this respect to cover our Secondary and later the Higher Secondary classes also.
